Change on the cards in Buckinghamshire
- 20-2-2012
- Categorized in: News
From today, February 20th 2012, the single bus fare discounts available for Buckinghamshire ‘Make More’ CitizenCard holders aged 16 and 17, will be changing. This is the first time fares have changed since the scheme started in May 2007. Only journeys beginning and ending in Buckinghamshire will be valid and these fares will increase to £1.20, with certain longer journeys increasing to £1.50.
Buckinghamshire County Council Cabinet member for Planning and Transport, Peter Hardy said “Buckinghamshire County Council has run this scheme for five years and this is the first increase to the discounted fare in that time. The decision reflects the need for vital budget savings while still providing an accessible discount scheme for 16 and 17 year olds which is significantly cheaper than adult fares.”
In addition to reduced bus fares card holders can now benefit from a range of other discounts through the Lealta Discount Scheme saving money at participating stores. To find out how to claim go to www.citizencard.com/cclealta
