Instant CitizenCard

Must have your card today? There is a solution -  book an appointment at our offices in London.

An instant application costs £40 and can be paid by credit/debit card at the time of booking of your appointment via email or over the phone. It is exactly the same as any other - you must still complete the application form complying with all the requirements and a referee must sign the application form, photo and if applicable a copy of ID. The major difference is that it takes about one hour to process (subject to verification).

Thing to remember for birthday party animals - if you require 18+ or 16-17 card but are not 18 or 16 – 17 yet we will only be able to issue your card on the day or after your actual birthday.
No ifs, no buts, it is illegal to use a card displaying inapplicable age code anywhere.

To apply for an Instant CitizenCard process you must:

  • Arrange an appointment

Email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (please put ‘Instant Application’ in the subject for priority) stating the date and time desired for the appointment as well as your full name and contact details. We then will get back to you requesting the payment.

We need 24 hours notice in advance to arrange an appointment and we can see you Monday to Friday, between 10:00 and 15:00 (excluding bank holidays). We will do our best to arrange an appointment on the same day subject to availability.

  • Fill out application form

Choose either a Route 1 or a Route 2 referee and print the application form.

  • Make sure your referee is ready for our call

Once you have dropped off your application we will be contacting your referee so please make sure that they are ready at their place of work on a non-mobile work landline telephone number for our call.

If we are unable to contact your referee at the time of your appointment your card will not be issued on the day and the fee paid will still apply.  We can not speak to anyone other than the referee who has completed your application form.  The payment is non-refundable and if your application can not be verified on the day it will be treated as a postal urgent application. This will take 1-2 working days to process (subject to verfication) and once verified your card will be posted by Royal Mail Special Delivery (Next Day Delivery by 1PM) to your nominated address.

  • Be on time

You must be on time for your appointment, as time is precious for both of us. If you do not arrive 30 minutes after the specified time sadly we will not be able to help.

  • Drop application off

You will need to drop off your completed application form and we will contact you on your mobile to advise when your card is ready to collect.

Good news - if you are bringing your original photographic ID – passport, driving licence or a PASS card you do not need to supply a referee providing that your picture on the document matches your current appearance. If your name has changed and does not match the name on your original ID you will need to bring with you your original marriage certificate or change of name deed.

More good news - If you are already a CitizenCard holder you can obtain an Instant Replacement card without use of referee for £35.  If your name has changed since your previous card was issued you will need to bring with you to your appointment your original change of name deed or marriage certificate. Note - if your previous card was issued long ago – before March 2009 - you need to apply afresh.
