Final warnings have been given to Aberdeen retailers found to be selling tobacco to underage customers. Routine test purchases were made at 15 shops across the city earlier this year using 16-year-old volunteers. Seven of the retailers targeted in the operation sold cigarettes to the teenagers.
More shops in Hampshire have been caught selling cigarettes to children.
Two shopkeepers who were caught selling cigarettes to an underage teenager have been fined by magistrates. Nanu Bhai Patel, 64, of Lea News, on Blackpool Road, Preston, was prosecuted by Lancashire County Council Trading Standards.
